This photo was taken by placing my camera on the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri and shooting straight up the south leg. The 636 foot tall stainless steel monument reflects the city lights, and in the lower third you can see the reflection of the Arch's curve.

I was hoping for a clear, black sky but ended up with a low cloud deck that reflected the street lights, giving the sky an eerie orange-red glow.

I have submitted some lame photos in the past, but I have always learned something new from the feedback I receive. My goal is to boost my average score a bit.

This is an interesting photo. I had no idea it ws the Gateway Arch from St. Louis! This wasn't what I had in mind for "industrial" I say that because I think that everyone has a different point of view of what they are expecting when voting on a themed challenge. The picture is a little noisy and there is a hot spot on the arch. I still am impressed with what you were able to accomplish with basic editing! Very nice! I just wasn't impressed with the subject for this challenge. One more thing that bothers me is that the base of the arch is dead center in the frame. This makes the composition sort of boring. Using the rule of thirds maybe would help.

I thought this would have gotten a better score. I love it! Just a great new point of view. I'm relieved to read that it IS the arch, (my first thought), funny I guessed second it was a chair leg!!

Don't have a clue what this is, but the steel sqaures make me want to think this is the arch.

Interesting object. I was looking at this and couldn't figure out what was bothering me. After a long while, I used a piece of paper to re-crop this so that the reflection surface is not exactly centered on the picture. I liked that better.

Interesting abstract, I don't know what it is. Distracting grain and noise in the image.

Certainly an engaging image, I like the strong lines and form. Its unfortunate I can't really decern what the object is, so I can't judge its industrious nature.
