A self portrait. I really like this photo. Taken during the same shoot as my personal best (to date) triptych entry, 'McNamara Landing'. So we'll see how this scores, maybe I was on a roll that day :-) This is the landing itself, a set of wooden steps and platform on the river. I like how busy it is, but the railing stands out and leads the eye strongly to the subject. (IMO) I like the stark, contrasty tones. Compositionally, the subject is placed near the frame edge, looking out to the right, the future, he is in this stark late autumn setting, waiting for the advent of winter. Anyways, that is what I was going for, you may think it's a load of crap and I'm full of beans, and you very well could be right :-)
In ps- crop, usm, tritone, soft light layer with the opacity dropped, overlay layer opac. dropped, levels adj, curves adj, little bit of burning, dust and scratches, resized.
Thanks for checking out my pic.

I love how you caught the color and texture of the wood. Nicely done, great placement of your subject. I really like your colors, bumping up your score
this would have been great for the camo challenge, his shirt and the sepia tone almost make him dissapear! I like the angle of the shot and the texture of the wood combined with the dead branches.
Great on many levels. The filtration, the leading line and the simplicity of subject. I love all of the gnarled vines and branches. Normally, the design of the jacket would be distracting, but it actualy works well in this shot. Good one!! 8
