Oh, I do think this deserved a higher placing. You obviously took time to think about your set up and composition, the clarity is good if not perfect and it's a really fun interpretation of the challenge. Better luck next time.

C'mon! Don't tell me you don't know.. :)
I would have liked more w/o the flash. You have an annoying reflection in the computer screen. I would suggest you to try this with an external source of light.

I think you have a neat idea - try bouncing your flash to the side or use a different light source - frontal flash with close ups tends to make everything flat.
