Compare this shot with e301's entry for "Everyday Objects". The ideas are similar, but see how his executes better. I gave it a 5, and a few things stood out to me as problems.

1) The textured lower right corner is unsightly. I don't like it.

2) The colors are supersaturated which leads to less appealing abstraction. Particular examples are the blue/green square between the tines and the purple to the left of the "neck" of the fork. When we get such saturation, they start to look blocky and pixelated.

Just a tad oversharpened here. The colors are great but there is way to much artifcating after PP.

Beautiful, vibrant and colourful. Love the square crop. Good use of the rule of thirds. It looks a bit overprocessed, but I'm thinking that was your goal here. The shallow DOF is an interesting problem here, it works for the fork tips, but it also gets part of the foreground (chair arm???) in focus, just a little strip of it, and I'm wondering if that's good or not.

Nice macro, although the harsh ligthning isn't working for me.

While the fork is tack sharp, I'm afraid the processing just doesn't work for me. The viewer's eye will always be drawn to the brightest spot in an image, in this case it leads my eye away from the subject.
