Must say that this challenge was really a challenge! I had more outtakes than any other challenge: from rotten grapes from Sacramento California's vineyards to snow covered apples outside my house. I finally settled on this half poped kernel ... and it took FOREVER to get it just right! Hope this sufficies for Too Early.

Nice Timing on this image. Well composed too. The balance between the color of the corn and the bubbles in the oil is well handled. If you look closely we can see you too.

photo good exposed and the colors are harmonized very well, for the composition I have anything to repeat. Good photograph

7 - One of the very few who actually 'Met the Challenge' (my interpretation at least) fairly well, it was not easy. In my opinion, this can be taken as 'took the shot too early to capture the 'pop moment' (which fits the Challenge better- again my opinion) or as you've said in your title, 'too early for popcorn' - if that makes sense. Difficult Challenge to vote/comment on. Criticism; sharper/more detail on the kernel, like the oil 'effect'. Perhaps some more space above/below/to the right, may have also made this better in my opinion.

Interesting subject. I usually ignore the Title, but couldn't figure it out without yours.

nice pic, too bad we can see your face in the reflection. 5+

I'm scared for you in this shot. I'm afraid of oil, so if that popcorn actually POPS, I'd assume that oil would splatter too. I gave a 7 because there's something lacking in the composition. The contrasts works great with the teflon (I'm assuming) pan. And if you could have taken out your reflection it might have turned out better. I'm not exactly sure though.

Like the look of the kernel, esp. with the wetness of the kernel and the oil away from it. Won't be long before it is popcorn, but you are "too eary" to catch it. The reflection of the photographer is a wee bit distracting and the play of light on the right upper part vs the darkness of the left upper side distracts a wee bit also. Overall a nice macro, good luck.

The reflections in the oil and on the kernel are a bit distracting. Creative idea!

My eye seems to want there to be a _little_ more space on the top of this image (i.e. between the kernel and the top crop line), but otherwise I really like it.
