 Water balloon not filled very very full and dulled reproduction dagger. Shot RAW, adjusted white, exposure, PS bumped contrast, brightened white a touch, USM, Neat Image, resize, USM, save for web.

Cindi, I thought this one would place higher. It met the challenge much more than a bunch of the entries did. It was an 8 from me.

Not an easy set-up I'm guessing. I can't help wishing you had chosen a balloon that didn't have words on it. My eye keeps being drawn to the black lettering at the bottom. It disrupts the clean quality of the pure red and white. I think cropping the blade to eliminate the decorative element would have helped for the same reason. A really good effort though.

Everyone can burst, but then one bursts in beauty. On the balloon the two white points are not very aesthetic nor the writing which one sees appearing.

I would have turned the balloon just a little more if possible to hide the writing.

would have created a lot more impact if taken at a macro level to make the curves near the contact visible
