The snowman, scarf, and hat are made out of solid mozzarella cheese. Food coloring was used for blush, red scarf, hat, eyebrows, and the coloring of the skewers.

The arms are made out of broken skewers.

The buttons are coriander seeds.

The nose is a piece of pumpkin skin from a pumpkin ready for the trash.

The falling snow and and ground snow are both grated parmesan/romano cheese.

I also made an entire family, but not as nice looking. I took about 60 shots of the family before I decided to remake and reshoot this little man. He was about 6" high in total, and I used about 1/2 to a pound of solid mozzarella to make them all (including the family of them). When this one was made, I took about 125 different shots of him to get about 5 I could really see working here using basic editing.

Once I chose and completed this entry, I took this little man and recycled him by throwing him as FAR as I could out the window where I took this shot and into the woods! The wildlife will love him and after the mess and so many shots, I loved throwing him too. LMAO

(This was NOT easy, although it may look it!! The hat was in three different peices and was hard to stick together. The little ball on the top was the worst and kept falling off and apart. The scarf is three peices and fell apart several times. The coriander seeds kept falling out cause the cheese would expand from all the manipulation. A top hat couldn't be used cause the cheese would melt for the rim and droop, so I came up with the ski type hat instead. I think is cuter. BUT, next time this contest comes around, I won't be using a sculpturing concept with this cheese anyway! WHEW!)

Season's Grate-ings to you all, and thanks ahead of time for the votes and comments!!

Regardless, Congratulations on your top 5th placing and yes, you should have placed above my cheesehenge which used the cheese to portray stone.

Funny, I just wrote you on that placement. Thanks for all the compliments by the way, and your comment before the end of the challenge was SO SWEET! Thanks!!

I don't understand our placements though. Our scores were tied, but I did have an overall higher average of scores that show to the right of the photos? So I am a bit confused on the placement.

In any case, thanks again for your compliments, and I will try your suggestion of marketing. LOL...

Love it! Could use a shift in color balance to make "snow" white.

Clever, but there is a hair on his right arm. Probably wouldn't know it was made of chese if it wasn't on the title. Next time, maybe put the little "real" tag on it (that tag that is on all real cheese).

Usually I find these images tacky and that is because they are created without aresthetic beauty but rather to be cute. This image is an exception and it is very well done. Goes to prove that beauty and art can be created from almost any medium.

Great detail has been paid with a careful hand and a discerning eye. You have my highest praise. This image is cute, lovely and invokes the "sweet and kind" yearnings within us.

Wow, someone sure took their time playing with food here! This image is outstanding. The colors are great, the background is good (looks like it's in the woods!) the lighting is great and the falling snowflakes add to the scene. Another perfect image. Good luck :)

Cute idea but a bit out of focus

Terrific. I'd give it an "8," but the "seasonal theme" makes me bump it up to a "9."

This is one of the best pictures. However, it isn't obvious that it is made out of cheese, if it weren't for your title. Good Luck! 8

Shoulda took a slice right outta the middle so you could clearly see the mozarella. Big points for creativity though and well shot.
