Greetings from the Critique Club
This image is peaceful and quiet. I like the composition very much and the light on the pond is beautiful. Because it is backlit, it is difficult to make out the railway bridge and while I think I see that there is actually a train on it, as a title, it is just a little obscure.
I would suggest a couple of ways to retake this image. First, if you do try again, consider bracketing your shots. In this instance, definitely under-expose to see if that would give you a better image. I would also experiment with your ISO. It may be that an ISO of 100 would do the job well here.
The final suggestion I would make would be to try to use the full amount of pixels DPC allows. This image comes across as a bit small but in DPC you have 640 pixels on the longest side as well as the 150mb file size. You might try to take full advantage of those pixels.
Congratulations for getting up so early to take this pretty shot. I wish you luck in future Challenges. |

Impressive, especially the texture on the lake/river. |

The sun is somewhat blown out. I find that distracting. |

Lol i like the photo.... but the lake is dirty and if you were supposed to sell it nobody would want to buy a picture with a dirty lake.. (no offense) theres nothing you could do about that..... if you burn in the sky to get more of the colors out.. that would of been nice
great job great effort
keep working and practing and youll be the best |

as an image, this spot might have some potential, but the water is not that appealling at the moment. the blown out area needs to be reigned in a bit in order to bring out the true beauty you were trying to capture (and, unfortunately, that is something that you can't really do under basic editing rules). as a challenge entry, this is somewhat lacking in that there is not much context to relate it to 'early early in the morning'. if this doesn't do as well as you would like, don't give up; just keep on trying and learning, and you'll get where you want to go. |

it seems almost as though theyre should be soming standing upright into the sky in front of the pond. Perhaps because there appears to be something in the reflectionin the water. |
