I think you hurt yourself with the lighting here. This sort of bright uniform white works well with fur or leather product shots, where the surface is very complex and will carry the image, but the simplicity of the moose needs more dramatic lighting, with a more varied backround. The image is just too static and simple. Had the moose been standing in a pool of mouse rather than bars of chocolate, and the lighing implied a sunset/nature setup, the pun might have run a bit further.

I am not a real big fan of photographing objects, the fact that they aren't alive brings with it a sense of boredom. I understand retail photography, but these two objects just don't do much together.

Oh, and dark chocolate is my favorite! bittersweet.

Good pun. It just didn't grab my eye for some reason. Does appear oversharpened. I think I would have liked to see more of a "nature scene" made with the chocolate, like a pond and lilies and bullwinkle was walking through that; or maybe somebody sitting at a table with fork, ready to eat mr moose - albeit with a quizzical look on their face. Hmmmm. Or maybe a persimmon?

Merry Christmas. :)

Edit
I think when looking at the photo I'm trying to decide if the moose is chocolate or is it wood; I think this mental debate, especially for someone of my limited mental facilities, obviously took away from my photo-enjoyment.

LOL - I really, really like your concept. Something about the pinkish/purplish color at the base of the dish distracts me, but very, very clever.

maybe just a bit heavy on the sharpening to my eye.
