This bird actually lived in an exhibit but could freely roam and fly around. There were 2 macaws there, but this guy seemed to model for the camera. Really pleased with the colors and DOF. If I were to reshoot it, I would have tried some different composition.

I slightly cropped it and did some sharpening.

I'm pretty sure this is a green wing Macaw. Scarlet macaw's have yellow on the wings as well.

I really like the detail of the wing feathers. It makes me think of a watercolor or impressionist painting. I think the cropping of the tail feathers is a bit distracting since the angle of your subject leads your eye down to the lower right corner.

wOW!! The colors are great and the expression on the bird is perfect. As if "So you want a picture, eh?" The clarity of the feathers is excellent. Blurred background perfect. All around very very good.

Excellent colors, and quality. Although I would like to see the full shot of the bird, this tight crop works well with it. =) The birds' wings look almost painted. If I could vote, I would have gave you a high mark =) Good Luck!

Good subject. Good colors. I think you could've saturated them a little more and still maintained this quality. Nice pic

Macaws are wonderful... I used to have one. I never get tired of seeing them as subjects and I like the detail you've caught with this photo.

Beautiful bird! Great detail and color. I see nothing technically wrong (except maybe the tail crop, but I'll go with it). 10 Rob the Swash

Only one small comment - I wouldn't have cropped off the tail feathers. Great shot otherwise

Slightly more DOF is needed as only the wing is really sharp.

Nice colors here. It looks like he's about ready to jump onto your shoulder (or camera).
