 Most of you have been fortunate enough to remain untouched by the Garden Gnome Mafia, but for the rest of us, this organization is an ever-present reminder that all is not right with the world. What started as a militant wing of the Garden Gnome Liberation Front has grown into a powerful crime ring whose operatives can be found in nearly every residential district in the so-called civilized world.

I find the concept of a Garden Gnome Mafia needlessly amusing, but I attribute a perverse breed of genius to the originators of the Garden Gnome Liberation Front, so take that for what it's worth. I don't expect this image to even score a 6, but there are fewer than 100 entries with less than 24 hours to go, so I had to give it a shot.

Lighting Setup:
One light to the left and slightly above the gnome
One light held directly in front and below him to cast the harsh shadows on his face and illuminate the fuse of the dynamite.

Editing steps:
Levels, saturation, contrast, resize, USM.

I deducted a point for not having an actual phobia name in your title as suggested in the challenge rules. I do like the off-centered composition and lighting though.

I just commented on an entry that was on fear of dolls, but wasn't scary. *Yours* is very scary. I can see that gnome coming to life and blowing up my house. Good work with the photograph, but title is a bit long.
