The family went to the National Zoo in Washington, DC to see the new baby panda cub. The whole area around the panda house is landscaped in this Aisian feeling theme, with different grasses and such. The afternoon sun was shining through these grasses in a really awe inspiring way.

Unfortunately, I don't think I captured them as well as I should/would/could have. My battery was exhausted from the workout I gave it on all the animals and I had to coax it to life to get this shot. The colors (which were very delicate to begin with) didn't come across well in my shot, so I went with this nearly black and white desaturated look.

It's nothing that will "WOW" the DPC audience, and I realize that, but it was a scene that just radiated warmth and beauty, and I wanted to try to share that with others.

7 - Very nice. Nice simple colors. Criticism; not much, perhaps a little more detail in the fore 'grass', but difficult likely. Perhaps angle too, enabling more of the 'DOF' to be incorporated/shown more, possibly a little more height too (not sure), may have made this even better in my opinion. 'Somehow' cropping out that bottom left bit of grass/seedhead(s) too, again angle likely. Not sure on the frame, 'works', especially the color, but the thickness - don't know it complements the delicacy of the grass. Up to 7 from 6.
