I loved the feather patterns on the back, I had some other cool pictures just of the back, zoomed in, but too big for the file size restrictions. I hope you all like my first submission here! Took this at a park here on christmas morning! Very exciting to chase them around and to shoot them with the sun out finally!

Oh and my personal favorite is the water drops on the goose's neck! It shone like little diamonds in thesun while I was shooting this picure!

Thanks for the comments from Crtique club. I am very new here and learning my way to survive.

Here is the pic I could have used for the zoomed in view of the feathers.

***Greetings from Critique Club****

I remember seeing your image while voting and telling myself that it wouldn't do well. Why? Because to many, it just doesn't meet the challenge.

I scored it fairly high myself, because I tend to let the photographer decide what fits the challenge.

You mentioned you had an image that was a zoom of just his back. Now, THAT would have fit the challenge. There are some tutorials on the site about resizing, since you had concerns about image size. They are Here.

Your photo is in good sharp focus and shows good detail. Color seems a little flat though and lighting is harsh at best, but getting a chance to shoot a wild goose doesn't happen often does it?

I'd personally like to see other images from this series. Keep working, you won't see these types of scores long, I promise.

When you see a challenge, go out and shoot specifically for that challenge. This structure helps you practice many different styles of photography and perhaps will get you to shoot in ways you had never thought about.

Hope to see more from you.

Take Care,
Leroy

Doesn't seem to represent a "pattern"

This looks rather like a nice snapshot to me. I don't really get a sense of pattern from it. If you were attracted to the pattern of the goose's feathers than a tighter crop to isolate a single area of the goose is necessary to make a statement about that. I'm not sure if that is what you were aiming at because it really isn't clear in this shot----I'm just making an educated guess.

Doesn't feel like it meets the challange of "Pattern" and the shot is just a snapshot so it's double wrong for me.

What does this have to do with the challenge? Poor contrast and out of focus. 2
