On the contrary, I would say it was excellent timing. Strong composition as well.

The fun thing about foul is not only are they habitual and ritual creatures, but they're very synchronized. Great capture, and wonderful exposure and color considering that they're in motion.

nice catch

This would of made a fantastic photo had the focus been a little sharper and it wasn't blown out so much on the middle bird. Great timing though!

I've seen this very picture on the canal waters near Ottawa a month ago. It was such a surprise at the time but now it looks much more common. They are so much more funny live. I enjoy the unusual pose. Typical move from anyone trying to avoid being photographed. I would have liked seing a head peeking at us. A triangle formation would have been interesting. A couple would have made a good pair but the four bird corner to corner design seems ordinairy. Good luck

Would have been interesting in either the Too Early or Too Late challenges! One problem with this shot is all too common -- the blown highlights caused by the white feathers. So it is overexposed.

ha ha ha ha. I wish this was tack sharp - it's really cute.
