Taken when we were opening Christmas presents on December 27th after returning from NC visiting my brother's family on Christmas day. Dad gave Mom a gold papillion for her charm bracelet (which looks just like their beloved dog Freckles). I managed to catch their Thank You *smooch* afterward. It's wonderful to see such genuine love and affection after almost 44 years of marriage.

"Energizer Bunny" = Still going and going and going after all these years! This includes coming back from a near fatal car accident 11 years ago when she was hospitalized for 6 months (compound fractures in both arms & both legs, broke both hips, broken ribs, broken fingers, broken foot, broken knee, broken heel, broke nearly every bone in her little body - took them 3 hours to cut her out of the car - now has internal metal replacement parts for one elbow, heel, & foot) and is walking today after they said she wouldn't! She also is a 5 year breast cancer survivor (notice the pink bracelet). She's quite an amazing woman...

PP included:
crop
straighten horizon
selective layers of Mr. Contrast filter, Neat Image, & gaussian blur
clone brush

This is a tough school and I'd have to categorise this as "Couple" because there's no offspring to suggest that she is or was a mom

Composition is ok. The choice of subject matter is ok. The image quality is a little below average. Has potential of being really creative. -

Neat Image (or something like that) hurt you here. Looks somewhat plastic. Sorry.

Very harsh lighting ruins an otherwise touching moment. The flash used appears to have been on-camera or close to it. Also, the image is quite contrasty. This is due either to what appears to be too much sharpening applied or, again, just the harshness of the flash. The fact that the gentleman is taller than the lady might call for a slight tilt to the composition (clockwise) to help the lady seem more on even ground. Lastly, when you are photographing a couple in this manner, pay special attention to how much you crop each subject. In this shot, the gentleman seems to have "popped in" for a smooch from the left, since you can't see his whole body. Give equal cropping attention to both subjects, unless you have a special reason not to. Good effort though.

Oh how I wish I could see what was in the little black box! I like the feeling captured in this one.

This is a cute capture but I get more of a sense of long marriage and romance than of motherhood from this. This cute couple deserves better lighting than the harsh flash of this photo.

That is so sweet. I love to see older couples still crazy about each other after so many years of marriage. Its not easy, but the older generation seems to know how.
