Oh well, was hoping to do better but it seems to be a love it or hate it shot. I assure those of you in doubt this is a women; )

This was taken in my backyard on a 40 degree day. I was in a tank top, face and hair covered with Georgia’s famous red clay. Added a few jewels and an ivy leaf to jazz things up. I clicked away while my children watched through the window thinking Mommy had gone mad. The worst part was when the neighbors pulled into their driveways simultaneously. Rather than trying to explain I stayed very still and avoided eye contact. I’m sure they saw me because shortly after they stopped waving to me, go figure. The things we do for dpc! lol

I think the average (commentors) had the correct opinion on this one! By the way, I gave it a ten in the voting. I'd go into all the boring reasons why...but sometimes you just have to sit back and breath the image in!! Just a wonderful job!! This one is 'All Jaxed UP'!

What a rip off. I thought this was magical and so unusual. UGH so much for creativity. It still warrants the 10 I gave it!!!

Hi Eden! It's been a while since I participated much here, but I was checking out the "mother" scores & loved this image. I was pleased to see that it was one of yours, and so I decided to check out your other images - whoa! What beautiful photos, and well-deserved high scores! Many congratulations on a suite of amazing accomplishments!

Congratulations in advance on your ribbon. I'll predict Blue!

JUst a few observations: Looks more like a guy than a mother though its hard to tell. The idea is exceptional, the earthy looking skin really pulls this togeter. The detail on the leaf and the color are very good. The only thing I didnt like was the tear, it looks cut out and pasted on the leaf, kind of ruins the effect of the leaf, big glaring white spot on it. I like the idea of the tear, just not that one. I gave it a 10, well done.

This one just jumps out at you. I find myself repeatedly drawn to it. I am bumping it up. There is just something about it.

Creative. Either the processing or makeup is making the face look very androgynous though. The tear looks funny as well. I'd have done without that.

You've abviously put a lot of thought and work into this image. The composition is teriffic. Something about the processing/make-up makes the subject look a bit masculine which I think cotradicts the title. The cracks on the chin remind me of the five o'clock shadow. However the tear drop adds a touch of softness. The message of Mother nature shedding a tear is still profound and strikes an emotional chord. Its a well executed image.

This is a bit too strange for me. I think it is just a matter of my taste verses your artistry here. Surely someone in the world of art thinks this is wonderful, but I guess I just have different tastes. Technically it looks great though, and that is where my vote will go.

Reminds me of the shot I did for Single Light Source II...

I like the texture of yours. The face looks pretty freakin sweet with all the mud and jazz al over it. And the tear on the leaf adds a nice touch of symbolism to the photo. Overall...I like it

Wow, very interesting. Nice composition and interpretation. I love the leaf and the eye is glarring while the other is semi-hidden. What really fascinates(sp) me is the chin, the dry-desert look you captured...Wonderful imagination, powerful picture.

I little to much proping, but good concept. I would have liked to see the jewels gone and the leaf positioned differently, but I am just being picky here.

Nice picture, very creative. A bit spooky though, she looks a bit manish because the stuff on her face almost looks like stubble.
