My grandmother's wedding ring and a cheap plastic rainbow ring. This was shot in a shoebox lined with white paper, through a hole in the side, with a lightbox (the kind for tracing things) upside down on top.

This shot, especially as titled, would do well with a square crop, I'm thinking. It would also be nice if the gems had more in the way of highlights. I like the theme, though.

Interesting idea with the rainbow-colored ring. I think that might be a bit distracting from the actual subject, but artistically it does add interest. Nice focus and shallow DOF.

I think that the color ring alone is beautifull....I just dont like the contrast between the two rings...a 7

The DOF seems too shallow, and the stone in the ring could have been illuminated some more for better effect.
