Just what it looks like. I do not plan on doing well in this challenge. Used my Softbox to take this shot.

Have a good day.

Greets from the Critique Club

Hi Turbotech,

This is an interesting, thoughtful shot. I'm not entirely sure it raises questions in my mind, but that's beyond the scope of my critique. The technical aspects of this photo are well done. I like the composition (though it's not perfectly centered) and I really like the lighting. What I don't like is that the shot appears to be oversharpened.. I actually think a bit of a blur would make this shot feel more mysterious and add to the questioning nature - but that's just me. Apart from that, there's not much more I can say.

Good job and good luck in future challenges
-Matt

Nice the way the light outlines the man.

Nice setup. A question we should all be asking.

I came across this last night. It has a Surrealist feel to it, but I can't compare it to any particular artist. In modern "art" perhaps an AI undertone...are those real arms or are you pulling the strings, Geppeto? That is, it looks like a model minus the almost seam-like impressions in the arms. Am I crazy? Do tell me the story. I find it strangely inspiring.

Great shot - well executed and fits the challenge well. I particularly like that you have just enought of an outline on the arms and shoulders of the person to make them really stand out. 10

I like the crop. This definately makes me go "hmm?" I do really like the lighting and how it lights up only part of the person creating some dramatic lighting. I think not being able to see the entire subject gives this the mystery. Also, What IS the lighting? It is a religious thing, or an alien thing? Definately leaves some questions unanswered for me. Great shot. ~Heather~
