| Very different and unique. Wycinanki, Mon-kiri, Papel Picado, folk paper cutting of all sorts and shapes to create a pleasing image. Here paper is cut into shapes to create imagery of a flower and butterfly. My critiques on this piece is that it could be cropped more such that there is less negative space and the eye is drawn & held by the main subject. The second suggestion is to have had the paper butterfly in more vibrant colors similiar to live butterflies - granted the white popps off the page because of the dark background but a more vibrant colors could add interest. |
