This is my favorite photograph from 2005. It was taken through a chainlink fence with the lense up against the fence. It catches the ball at the moment of impact on the bat, I was amazed at the amount of compression of the ball.

I think it's pretty amazing you caught this just at the exact moment the ball and bat are connecting - an extra point for that.

Perfect timing. Should someone tell him to watch the ball? :)

I have shot a lot of baseball and getting the bat on the ball is VERY hard to do. I did it once this past summer. I was so excited. They were college players too so the ball was coming very fast. It is cool how you caputred the the compression of the ball. Judging by where it was on the bat, I bet he hit it foul...or maybe a bunt? Nice job, I am a sucker for baseball shots

wow - talk about great timing! I'm guessing you were shooting in burst mode to get this.

great timing, a slight crop of the bottom would help the composition, since the legs have already been cut, it wont hurt to cut a little more ;)

must have been a frame in a series of bursts :)

He's too centered in the frame; crop it so he's more to the right. That's a great capture of the ball hitting the bat! (And teach him to keep his eyes on the ball, all the way to the bat!)

nice 'moment of impact' capture. unfortunately, the harshness of the lighting and the cropping make this more of a 'lucky snapshot' than a strong photograph. you do have the equipment and an eye. i would suggest digging through the archives, looking for the best sports shots, then take advantage of opportunities like this to go out and try to capture the shots that interest you the most. good luck!

Excellent timing. I would have liked to see the ballplayer's feet in view.

Quite a good shot, this can be quite difficult to take, and I'm not sure this is completely in focus where it should be, it's slightly confusing to my eyes. 6/10.

Man this looks like the ball is glued to the bat ... fantastic to capture this motion!
