I confess.. my mom cooked this meal, not me. If it had been me cooking, it would not have turned out nearly as pretty.

Japanese dishes and bowls are my weakness (next to spoons), so when I saw this challenge I knew I would have to use them.

The recipe is one my mom just kind of makes up as she goes, but here is what she used for this one:

Ingredients:
-1 lb sliced boneless chicken breast
-Fresh broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, water chestnuts, snow peas, onions, and bell peppers (or any variety of fresh sliced vegetables that you want)
-1/2 cup stir-fry sauce (she uses Kikkoman)
-2 cloves crushed garlic
-1/2 tsp ground ginger
-1/4 cup red wine

Directions:
-Mix together the chicken, stir-fry sauce, garlic, ginger and wine and marinate for at least 15 minutes
-Preheat wok on high and wait until hot, then add 1 tbsp sesame oil and the marinated chicken, then stir-fry for 2-3 min until the chicken is no longer pink
-Remove the chicken and keep it warm
-In the wok, add 1tbsp sesame oil and the stir-fry vegetables, then cook for 2-3 min
-Add the chicken and cook until heated through.
-Serve with steamed rice

Good display and nice arrangement of the food and chopsticks in the image. Looks like a bit of jaggies on reflection off the lower right rim of the holder but otherwise there are no digital effect visible at all. Well done image.

I think you could use a little bit more light on the vegetables, but that is just my opinion. this is a nice photo and nice setup

good job, but there seems to be several dark shadows that are a bit distracting to me. 9

This could have been superb with

1. Better lighting, use something more then 1 lamp and you get rid of the shades
2. Wider angel. Back up a litle and the photo could be superb.
3. Levels... use it!

very good composition. sharp with good detail. border seems to work ok. it appears you put some thought into your lighting but the cup is reflecting too much and probably should of been removed.

There seems to be a lot of shadowing that doesn't really add to the photo.
