There is a lot of foreground but I like how the eyes are led to the tiny house in the distance even before I read the title. Well done. 7 |

I love this photo even though the "burst of colour" is really small. The fog gives a moody feeling yet there is that bright yellow house in the background welcoming you. One of my top scorers. |

I know this isn't so, but it almost looks as if the house was just placed there for the pic. :) |

Very nice landscape. I really like the layers and composition here and feel that they guide the eye to the house in the distance. Great subtle answer to the challenge.... 8 |

Thank you for the abundant context. It's what I keep hoping to see. Nice shot. |

A very nice understatement. While the hue is not that strong it does contrasts well with the stone's monochromatic hues and keeps the sense of distance which would be lost if the color of the house were push up. |

Really neat picture, but the house is so small I can barely call it a splash of color. Maybe a small drip. 8) 5 |

A yellow house, and wonderful rocks, but a burst of color, I am not sure... |

I really like the image. Though ... as small as the house is it doesn't feel like a "burst of color". Great image though! |

I think it's a great contrast of both color and mood. 7 |

House is just a tad too small for the size of the photo. Even with that bright yellow color, it doesn't pop out at you enough. Perhaps a tighter crop with this exact shot, or taking the shot from a few steps over to bring it closer to that big rock to the right? Perfect subject for this particular challenge though! |

Love this shot. Beautiful picture all around, but for the challenge,...wish the house would have been a little more predominant and in focus. |

At least they don't have to worry about getting the kids to mow the lawns! This minimalist approach really really works. This is a brave and photographically sophiticated composition |

I wish the yellow house were in focus - as it is, it is like an afterthought. I'd like to see it in focus, and the foreground more blurred. But I still like the image - I might even saturate the yellow a tad more. Maybe as it is, use the lasso, and then do unsharp mask just on the house to sharpen it up a bit. 7 |

Lovely natural setting for this challenge. I think it would do better if the house were a larger part of the image. |
