I love that it feels to me, as if, if I just touch the screen, I can feel the stickiness of the pollon. But, if you made this image a tad bit sharper, it would of come out better. Great job though. (: |

Hi from the Critique Club!
This is a wonderfully soft and delicate study. This probably worked a little against you in terms of score. A burst of colour suggests something dramatic, yours is very muted and subtle in comparison with the top three, for example.
That said: I love the contrast of the yellow against the red. The yellow is showing white artefacts, however, which are a little harsh and detract from the overall softness of the image.
I quite like the DOF, again it adds to the overall calm, serene feeling the image evokes.
The composition is bold and, for me works. The lines of the petals creates a half circle that leads the eye around the image.
The lighting seems a little flat,I'd love to see a bit more shadow on the petals for more depth and contrast.
Overall, a wonderful soft, dreamy image that leaves me feeling calm. Well done. |

I love the composition but the lighting and colors seem a little flat. Sharper focus and higher contrast would improve this image. |

I like your use of Depth of Field to blur out going right to left... I think I would have prefered a little bit more of the total image to be in focus, but keep the concept and loose focus by the margin. I also like your composition greatly... the diagonal lines add energy while they all lead the eye to your sharp focused subject in the corner. |

Pretty, but...
There's something just a little 'off' about this picture. The yellow stamens look like their highlights are slightly blown out, perhaps from over post processing?
I think the DOF falloff is a little extreme, I would prefer more of the petal in focus too. |

I love the lines in this photo and how they draw the eye through the shot. Your DOF really created a focal point on the flowers center which works well.... 8 |

I like the DoF on this image alot and the way the lines brings your eye down to the corner, but it seems to be lacking something... perhaps an imsect sitting on the pollen would have improved it. Nice job overall. |

I wish the bottom left yellow part was more sharp. I like the soft lines of the pedels. |

The burst of color, not quite strong enough for me... |

Nice close up. A little more petal in focus would have been my preference. |

Now that's a macro shot! I like the composition. Compared with other more...brightly entered images in this contest, the colors in your photo seem a bit...muted. |

I like this shot a lot, but I do not think color helps the subject stand out. |

Strikes me more that focus is what offsets the subject, not the color which flows into the petals. |
