Just a note to anyone who might conceivably care, this photo was taken with the Olympus C-770UZ, not the 740. |

Good title, and a fitting sobre execution of the image. It really looks like a plan to build a dragonfly. 9. |

amazingly sharp and detailed. I think the dark opening distracts from it a bit though |

Great photo! I particularly like all the little reflections in the wings and the off-center composition which works perfectly with the background. The clipped wing tips are minor problem, doesn't really bother me. As for the title, well I have to assume you're either flame-baiting or being sarcastic, either way I'm ignoring it and judging the photo only on its own merits - 8 |

Wow, best of the bug macros so far, and I've gotten through over 500 images. The detail on the wings is great, the harsh light on the right adds interest (and it's really interesting to see the same wings under a plurality of lighting conditions), and the non-flower backdrop helps a lot. The detail on the whole body is fabulous, and the head and thorax look gilded. I'm not entirely thrilled about the title because of its connotations, though that may be in part due to the political uproar in the U.S. surrounding a subject called by the same name. Great photo - good luck in the final rankings. This is top notch. |

wonderful, wonderful detail. It made me take a second look at this one. Perhaps a better backround would have done the dragonfly justice. Great capture. |

Excellent macro and really like the composition! It's beautifully crisp on the eyes and body with nice golden tones. The title is a plus. The only thing that mars it or I'd given this a higher score is that dark block. Can't tell what it is and what it adds to the picture. A real shame but 8 anyway. |

I dislike macros, but I can't dislike this. It has a remarkable beauty that derives partly from the jewel-like structure of the subject, and partly from your masterful treatment and understanding of it. It's good to see an insect shot that is more than a tribute to the skill of the lens maker. 8. |

Amazing dragonfly. Excellent detail. The wings remind me of a beautiful bevelled glass door I saw once. The background is a bit distracting, though. |

Interesting macro. You don't normally see macros off-set in composition. |

The detail on this is so amazing that it almost doesn't look real. |

This may be the best photo in the whole challenge. Good job taking a photo that stands out among so many other good ones. You've also managed to take a dragonfly photo that really puts the other dragonflies to shame. Great job. Wonderful focus. Wonderful crop. Very interesting. Kudos to you. |

The bg is mildly distracting, it took me a minute to realize it's a window corner. After that: WOW!!! What detail!!! Great dragonfly! |

It was decided this would not be the best design for the Wright Flyer.
Beautiful!!! Absolutely crisp detail and color!! 10 (a rarity in my scoring, cuz I am anal) |
