Greetings from the Critique Club
Wow! Fabulous photo, but did you ever get chastised by the voters for singling out Frank without other folks in the frame.
Certainly the composition is excellent; the expression on your model's face is perfect. Since it is a PhotoJournalism type of shot, I don't see anything the matter with the highlights here and there. But, of course, I couldn't really advise you on them anyhow as you left your settings blank.
About all I can do is sympathize with you for having a great photo that voters didn't seem to think met the challenge. In wandering through your portfolio, I see you have other fine people images and a rather unique way of presenting them. So, my only suggestion is to keep up your fine sense of originality.
I do think your original work can do well in DPChallenge. The best work here often is unusual.
Good luck in your future challenges.

You are probably getting voted right down because of "the lack of crowd" and, as they put it "lack of DOF'. Don't worry...you are not alone. I, too, am getting the same comments.
But I think a photo should be judged 1 - on meeting the challenge and 2 - on the quality of the photograph.
So I am giving you a 9 as this is a beautiful photo. |

Great portrait shot, but no people nor crowds depicted here to be singled-out from by minimal depth of field. |

This is a nice portrait, but I don't think it fits the title of this challenge. |

Frank does not seem to be part of a crowd. I think the glare on his sunglasses is a little distracting. |

This is one of those really memorable street candid portraits. The challenge asked for a person to be singled out in a crowd and unfortunately doesn't do that. |

I really like this. The perspective is good but I don't see him singled out with narrow DOF. Hmmmmmm Maybe my interpretation is too literal. |

Oh my god...Marvin Gaye lives!
Nice shot, wish there was more of a crowd, the dof is good and so is the composition. Colors and white balance are also good. |
