If you compare this shot with your "heron" shot at the same location, looking at composition only, you can see, I am sure, how much stronger the other one is. Here you have a surprsingly static composition considering the grace of allt he component elements. It's dividing into 3 horizontal bands, none of the alone especially powerful or compellin.

You have other issues as well, especially with sharpening, which has haloed the poles, and also with not having the image aligned vertically (the lighthouse is falling over, and there's no real horizon to worry about, so...)

On the plus side, the merging of sky and water is fantastic, positively ephemeral. As with the other, I'd love to play with this one if you sent me the original. It's the best way I have of showing what I mean, which is why I do so much of my "commenting" in the forums where evryone can study the work being done.

A tad oversharpened for mine but otherwise this is lovely, really pleasing. The softness in the colours is great, and the clouds and their reflection make this shot. 7/10

Lovely. It looks like glass and you can't tell where the water ends and the sky begins.

Very cool. It almost looks like a painting. But it's tilted to the right. I see sooo many good pics that are tilted.

This is kinda neat where the image of the waters is lost in the sky. Great picture. bumping up.

I love the reflection and how it merges right in with the horizon. The horizon is tiled though - should try to straighten it when you crop

Very pretty shot, but suffering from apparent oversharpening which is distracting.

Very lovely. There is a dreamy, imaginary quality to this in the way the land seems to be floating in the sky.

A tighter crop with less "nothing" at the left side might have been more effective. Lighting is nice.

It's a nice capture. The image is slightly tilted clockwise and should be corrected.

Stunning! Ilove how the mist blurs the horizon, yet the reflection in the water is nothing short of a mirror. It looks slightly tilted, but other than that it is a perfect work of art in my opinion.

awesome pic, but i would have rotated it a few degrees counter clockwise to make the ground look more flat. but thats just me.

This shot needs a rotation to level the water line and the dock. Otherwise, a very pretty peaceful scene.

Gorgeous. Looks like it's floating in the sky. Very nicely composed.

It might just be my eyes but I think the horizon looks a bit off - could do with a slight rotation anti-clockwise maybe? Also there are halos around the posts in the water which looks like the result of oversharpening.

This is a gorgeous scene of tranquility. The way that the landscape tapers off to the remnants of the dock is elegant and appealing. The only this that detracts from this photo is the appearance of a tilted horizon - it looks like the right side is lower than the left.
