It's good to submit an entry again.

I'm trying a new lighting technique here. This is a simple setup. A piece of glass from a photo frame, pet shampoo, and a sea shell I bought this afternoon. I used a coffee stir stick to create the bubbles. The glass is raised about 6" above a red piece of paper. The lighting is created by using a mini maglite lit through a broom. The light is underneath the sheet of glass for the backlighting effect. After a few tries, I decided to use a lighter to provide ambient lighting from the sides.

Captivating shot - any shot that makes you come back and look again is something special.

Added: and that's one elaborate setup!

I love the light and shadows of this picture and the color of the background. Also, the bubbles add some interest. I think without them it wouldn't have been as nice.

there's something about this image that stirs my curiosity. I'm not quite certain but the colors has something to do with it. The sharpness is quite amazing. Great job!

I've been coming back to this image a couple times, and I can't quite make up my mind about it. It certainly gets the attention, and it is so sharp all over, and the reds are beautiful. It looks like a -dax in focus and not quite. I am not sure what to think about it. It is very different from my own conception of what an interpretation of "flow" would be - to my eyes it's beautiful, very beautiful, but static, very "floaty" rather than "flowy". Also, for some unknown reason, I keep wanting to look at the picture either sideways or upside-down (like it better sideways, from the right). Whoever you are, I really hope you don't mind this rambling comment.

Wonderful use of textures and lighting. I like the "lava-look" of the liquid. Very plasmic looking. The shell has a variety of textures that makes it visually pleasing. Great job. My high pick for a high placement in this challenge.

I love the different elements in this shot. The contrasts between colors, lighting layers, textures, and shapes make this very interesting to look at
