nice attempt but lacks any tory telling, nice light, good texture, color bland, b&w need work, angle needs work, comp ok, overall try again

It had been a hard summer for the man on 57th street, but nothing was going to keep him from getting to his granddaughters birthday party today. Not even the painful arthritis he felt in his legs every time he took a step.


Great shot! It draws you in to want to know more about what this man has gone through and what he is going through.

This is a cool idea, but to me, this is a case where the centered composition seems to be lacking strong dynamics. Perhaps an offset comp, or using the rule of thirds, and maybe some more negative space could add more weight to the image?

I like the muted grey tones throughout this piece, but I think a different angle would add a bit more interest - maybe get a bit lower down?
