I don't think you add anything to this photo by going greyscale. There really isn't a classic look or a vintage look to make this a better picture by going b&w. It doesn't have much going on in the photo and I think that really hurts it. |

I like the idea of the black and white...If was just a little less exposed and the sign under the eve were not washed out it would have worked better for me. |

Not an aesthetic fireworks display, yet...
the treatment is interesting enough. To me, this photo illustrates, what can be done with a 'mundane' subject to achieve a very pleasing image.
Both composition (placement of diagonals coverging left to right, the halfed ((well, almost)) tree, the appropiate lighting emphasizing the street lantern). No, I'm not elated by this shot, but...
I have to say that it is very nicely and carefully crafted. |
