Greetings from the Critique Club

Oh, wouldn't you know it! I've received an image from a new recruit to the Critique Club to evaluate. Well, don't let the results of this critique dissuade you from joining...

Okay, I'm with GertaGrice on this one. I looked hard at this nicely exposed, pleasant image for a focal point. The bird, the temple, the condo, the beach. All are interesting, none are really strong. (I don't care about the debris on the beach; it's a beach, what do people want, have it raked?)

Anyhow, that temple is intriguing. I'd love to see more of it. Can you see the beach and ocean from it? The Condos have interesting shadows right now from the direction of the light. Could they be incorporated into a pleasing composition?

Okay, you get the idea. You scored well on the beautiful scene you presented. You might score really high by selecting a focal point within this scene and emphasizing it.

I wish you continued success in your DPC experience.

Alice.

I'm not sure what the centre of interest in this image is meant to be. The bird and the white building at the right seem to be competing for my attention. I love the beautifu, soft colours in this image, though, and the painterly feel.

Beautiul scenery, but looks a bit over-sharpened.

The bird flying, add a nice interest to this seascape.....

this is nicely framed, but the muck (pardon the pun) on the beach is not attractive.

A little oversharp on the gull to my eyes, there seems to be a bit of a halo on it (maybe some dodging there too? I dunno). Looks like a fun place to be.. and warm.

Nice shot. I think it would look nice in back and white with a slightly increased contrast.

this is ok, i guess, but all the stuff washed up on the beach kinda takes away from it. i mean, yes, i know, that stuff is really there, but what are you trying to do with the image? it has the makings of a postcard (even if it is a little flat), but it's just not that appealing, at least to me. buy hey, that's just my opinion. as long as you love it, that's what matters.

Nice shot. A little purple color cast on my monitor.
