Too bad about the green background, also the prey dominates too much over the much cooler looking predator. All this just imo obviously! Good luck!

nice macro, nice color, confusing at first glance, comp needs work, b&w ok, light ok, overall could be better

this is disgusting, not the image but the subject.. it's a great macro but should come with a warning for people that eat by their computer.. I almost spit my food all over my keyboard....

Great Macro shot! I wish we could tell better what the praying mantis is eating.

Amazing macro. Great job. That you can actually see the pupil in the mantis eye is just incredible to me.

Great macro shot! I'm eating my lunch at my desk as I am viewing and voting so this really grossed me out! :-) Praying mantis' are so very cool and this extra close up view is awesome, despite what is happening.

A little disturbing from a personal level, but as a technical photo this is very impressive. Amazing detail and color.

Really nice capture! I've never seen one where the mantis has ever actually caught anything. Maybe a slightly wider DoF to get the front legs of the 'victim' in focus would improve it a bit, buth nothing to take away from this one.

Amazing macro of the insect world. The upright verticle composition seems lacking in dynamic verve. If this was cropped, try a diagonal crop to see what would happen to the movement. Great focus and clarity.
