thought this would have done better.
I guess this challenge did have some pretty specific requirements, and this goes against the rules in a number of ways -
But that does nothing to detract from the quality of this image by itself, which is very high. |

Well spotted, you can see that the couple feel uncomfortable because they are looking in the other direction |

This is a very nice shot but two people strolling by does not a crowd make. Also, you used selective desaturazition rather than minimal depth of field to isolate your subject. Some of the background has been blurred but not enough for me to consider it minimal depth of field. At any rate, the couple are focused just as sharply as the flutist and the idea was to single out a single subject from a crowd. |

Nice idea but the light on the musician against the black and grey background makes him stick out like a sore thumb. |

Beautiful post processing here... I think you've done a good job of singling out the fearless musician with both an interesting composition and creative post-processing. Initially voted it a 9... coming back for a bump to 10. |

Honestly, the selective desat doesn't work for me on this one. It's a good shot, but the selective desat gives it too much of an artificial feel for me. |

A nice shot, but you used colour to single out the flute player, whereas the rules of the challenge command using DOF for that purpose. |

Great way to execute the theme! I think this is one of the best examples in the comp. |

The challenge asked for a person to be singled out in a crowd using shallow depth of field. |

would have been better without singling out with color. the full-color subject against the dull blue background do not work together. it's too much -- the musician almost looks photoshopped in. |

She's singled out by color but not shallow DOF as is directed by the challenge. I do like the image alot though. |
