I really like this one - hope to see it near the top. The girls in the background, in spite of being outside the field of focus, really add emphasis to the foreground girl. The lighting, the leading lines in the walls and the camera angle also work well to bring you right to the subject. Could it ribbon? I'm hoping it will. :-) |

This set-up shot goes against the spirit of the challenge which was to "Drop your fear of candids this week" and single out a subject in a crowd. This certainly isn't a candid, it isn't even a crowd. It seems to be missing the point. |

I like this picture, and the idea. However I can't help feeling this was staged to some extent. |

There's a lot to this image that I'm not sure I'm reading right, but it's captivating, regardless. |

Nice attempt, good color, lighting a bit flat, nice blocking, blacks good, whites barely in, nice dof, nice lines, sharp, overall just nice. |

A very nice moment, well framed, good use of DOF. |

I like the image photographically speaking, but for some reason it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable seeing young girls (obviously underage) in such a grownup-looking pose. Perhaps I'm reading way too much into it, but perhaps not. I do like the angle and the urban look. |

Nice staged portrait that really conveys a theme. I keep tilting my head when I look at it - I think rotating a touch so that the verticals in the wall are vertical within the frame would help. Composition, lighting and content all work well. |

Great shot, but doesn't look candid (I have a hard time believing it wasn't staged). |

Lovely image, really interesting and a good storyteller. I usually hate verticals not vertical but I think it has enough here to work. |
