This was really lacking in focus. No particular aspect of the image stood out. Sharper focus and less onions would have improved the composition.

Great texture. I love that you photographed something a little more abstract than the norm.

I think the DoF works quite well here, and the contrast and colours are really good together.,

Ok this is interesting, I would have liked to see what is in focus on the thirds.

This doesn't move me...

The focus appears to be spot-on. Great colour and an interesting take on an everyday item.

Interesting use of shallow DOF, but the focal point is a little unstable. Hard to really grab on to with the eyes, and the effect is that the whole photo seems to just be OOF.

I presume that it is deliberate that only the stalk of the left onion is in focus. Otherwise, I think that the colours needed to be saturated ... of turned to BW.

To me, this is too dark and poorly focused

I can see what you tried to do here, but somehow i don't feel it. I think it's a little messy.

Wish more of this was in focus.

Needs a bit more DOF to ensure more of the onion is sharp - but beautiful eye-catching piece. The rest can be out of focus, but at least one element should have a really really strong focus.

I'm trying to comment on all images, but not quite sure what to say here. The bottom left onion has really good focus but I'm not sure I personally would have chosen this as a subject for a Best of contest. Good luck.

I appreciate that you are trying to "think outside of the box," but the composition or subject matter just doesn't do anything for me at an artistic or emotional level. Keep at it.

Sorry but this image in my opinion is WAY too busy for it to just have that one area in the lower left corner in focus, frankly I just find this shot irritating to look at. Not trying to offend, just wanted to explain why I left a low score of 3, I felt I owed you that much.

dof is too shallow for my tastes (a wee bit more of the front onion in focus for me). Nice lighting, very good crop, excellent shadows and lines.
