Boating and Biking is another interesting piece in the Best of 2005. I think this was an extremely tough challenge since there were 829 submission, and because of this a lot of piece did not get the attention they should.
I really like the overall composition of your shot,it is a subdued but warm shot. The subject and shot have a great sense of summer and all the pleasure and simplifies of being young. The yellow flowers give the shot extra attention, if they were not included I think viewers might over look it. I think I would try differnt cropping to see if it enhances the shot or takes too much of the subject away. I think the shapes give a great feel and even flow to the shot. Good work.

Thought the subject needed more interest. |

Nice touch having bright flowers in the basket of the bicycle. Might otherwise seem too drab. |

Interesting subjects, Did you try without cutting both. Might have been better. |

I highly enjoy shots like this. I don't know what the surroundings there are like, but I am wanting to see a bit more of the wall and the bike.
Very good work. |

Very interesting still life. I like the color impact of the flowers and the life preserver. |

Two rather similar bicycle still life images in the challenge, and I really can't separate them in terms of appeal. They are both terrific, for the same reasons; they each combine a bicycle with a context to establish a line of speculation about location, owner, what happens next, and so forth. Each bicycle also has some intriguing cargo on board. And the two images are equally, but differently, photographically accomplished. Inevitably, the same score from me (so I guess I'll have to post the same comment to each). 8. |

I would have liked to see the entire bike, and maybe the rest of the ring too. Flowers are a neat touch--I think they add a lot to it. |

I really like the tones of this image...the life ring and those sunflowers just pop against the chocolate brown...really nice. |
