Total setup!!! Taken in mid July, the poor girl was anything but cold. Her hands almost got burned from holding the mug with hot water in it. My husband held up a black piece of velvet behind her for the shot. Photo was darkened a bit, levels adjusted, colourised, cropped, resized, sharpened, and border added.

That very brutal flash lighting really doesn't help this shot. Beyond that, maybe a little steam coming from the cup or something would aid the illusion. It's more of a pity as there looks to be some really interesting textures here.

Good sense of humor, the slight blue cast helps to add to the effect I think. My only suggestion would be to find a more uniform colored blanket. At first I thought it was burlap (scratchy).
