Driving down the road I saw this guy on the roadside going to town on his meal, I slowed down and grabbed my camera and he flew from the ground to this fence post with his half-eaten sandwich. Trying to get closer, I spooked him and he took flight, leaving his meal on the post. The hawk and the competion surrounding him waited me out and did not come back to finish. Bummed me out, because i wanted to get a flying shot of him coming back. RATS!
peace out- Kablinki

EEW! Haha it might put a few people off - I'm almost glad it's out of focus!

more contrast and sharpness and this would be a top photo

Could be just a little better focused...

nicely set off from the background..... great composition and it tells a story too...

I wish it was a little more in focus and you would have cloned out the wire

great capture...focus is a bit strange...nice dof

Fantastic catch! Something just doesn't look right with the eye & top of left wing?

Great subject - perfectly meets the challenge. However, sadly the focus seems a tad soft all over and with advanced editing allowed, imho, this would have benefited from removal of the fence wire. If this had been totally sharp though it would have been a 10, no question.

Powerful picture.

great catch but it's very very soft

Good, though naturally disturbing to look at. It looks too dull, though. Needs to be sharper to really "pop".

Very dramatic capture. I'd like to see sharper details--the bird isn't standing out quite enough from the background--I like to see crisper deliniation of form. The bird's eye looks a bit glazed over to me because of the strong glare in its pupil. It has a fairly strong emotional impact but this is sort of built in given the gory content. It would have been really powerful if the bird had been looking at the viewer instead off-frame. Overall, it's a cool shot. It just lacks a bit in image quality for me.

Good subject, but after-editing and lightning littlebit turn off.
