I don't know that B&W is appropriate for wildlife when you have the option of colour. The study of wildlife is to see the colours and habitat as nature paints them. This is a great art shot, one I'd be happy to have on my wall.

Cant figure out if this one has anything wrong or not. As water is dirty-gray, its pretty normal and so is the birds silhouette. Though as this is in adv. editing, its quite common to crank up the curves and make it shiny like in middle of day.
As it is, this is pretty realistic picture and is capturing that time of a day nicely.

This is the only really artistic pictures. Most of the others are studies. Thank you.

The concept and composition are appealing, but there is loss of clarity

I like the unusual composition and high contrast, grainy quality of this. Atypical of a nature shot but it works here. Clearly, some thought went into the composition and the creative look of the image. My guess, it will do well with a certain faction of DPC voters (like myself) and fall victim to the majority who will paradoxically see it as 'arty' yet fail to appreciate the art. Good luck and I hope I'm wrong! :D Thanks for sharing.

Great composition.

Brave use of negative space works well, nice silhouette on the bird and sand bank. Works well. Feels too dark overall but I can understand why, with only the grey of the water and black of the silhouette.
