Scary!!!!!

And here it is, one of the best so far. This is really good.It would be really great if it were completely in focus, but nice going nonetheless.

hahaha.. face a mom could love!!! Great portrait ;)

What a funny looking creature. Good capture.

I don't wanna know how you got that close to one of these ugly guys. Good focus on the eyes, but with the depth of field used you lost a little on his beak - which may have been intentional.
01/28/2006 01:29:14 PM
Wow, looks 3D!

What an ugly face, but a good image taken well.....

Not sure what a turkey 'volture' is :) but this one makes me laugh....... great expression and color... and the eyes being the most important here are in focus.

kinda spooky. nice shot

6 - Mainly for the potential and uniqueness. Criticism; difficult, would like to say the beak sharp too, but you'd lose the 'eye effect' - otherwise definitely 640 (in this case height) and perhaps a slight nudge rotation up on the left to 'straighten' (depending what you had to work with of course), and possibly a little more context incorporated 'somewhere', but not sure as, 'works' as is. Even sharper too on the focal points would also have given this extra. Good unusual capture.

eeeky! the dof is a bit too shallow and so most of the shot lacks a bit of focus imho
01/26/2006 03:29:12 PM
It looks like it is sticking out its tongue into the camera. I realize that it is the red beak, but it still strikes me as funny. I wish the beak were a bit more in focus.

Oh ugly little thing...

The light behind it is too bright. Either change direction so you're not shooting into the light or use fill flash and expose for the background.

Made me laugh.

That is one ODD looking bird. So ugly he is cute :-) Good photo.
01/25/2006 08:54:18 PM
very scary!!! I have never seen something quite like it.
01/25/2006 08:20:14 PM
Well.... ummm... this is quite something. Interesting perspective, a bigger DOF would have helped, even though you got the focus every so nicely on the eyes. The light is rather harsh, but the whole thing is fascinating in a cute/goofy sort of way. 5

This is a nice picture, I'm just afraid that this will be voted down because of the size, you should use the 640 pixels that we are allowed to use in challenges.
01/25/2006 06:32:56 PM
This would be a terrific image if it was a bit more in focus.
01/25/2006 03:43:50 PM
WOW well done
01/25/2006 02:29:22 PM
its funny... but great.
01/25/2006 02:02:07 PM
More DOF would make this picture great. Tough to do with a long lens and animals though. Great effort 8

This is a fun shot. I just wish so much of its beak wasn't blurred. I'd like to see the yellow skin part in focus (I don't know what that is called :D). Also, it's a little blown out at the top. I'd like to see the prickly feathers standing out in sharp contrast to the background. I don't really like the way its head is blending in with background here. Love the eyes though. On an emotional level this is a really good shot. Also, be careful of your spelling (vulture is spelled with a 'u'). I don't mean to come off as a smartypants and I know people get in a hurry and get impatient with the process of uploading a challenge entry but there's something about mispelled words in entry titles that bugs me. It doesn't effect my voting of course but who knows what it does to voters on a subconscious level. It's worth getting as much right as possible in an entry. :D

Very intresting a bit out of focus at the beak but very intresting.
