Did you know he built a lightbox for the street photos? That's how he got such rich details on the subject while also getting the lovely white background. It had panels on each side and one overhead. If I remember right, the side ones were black. Maybe not. Maybe someone else improved on his idea but I think it was him. Anyway. Good job. |

Great representation of Avedon. I would like to see a tad more contrast to bring out the finer details in the clothing and face. |

Nicely done and very reminiscent of Avedon down to the cloudy (or so it appears) gray sky behind the subject. |

your background seems a bit brighter than what I see of Avedon, and has less noise. Another thing Avedon does most of the tiome, yet not all the time, is to slightly off center the subject. You have captured the individual's personality and candidness well. |

good b&w tones, but overall not strong enough |

I think in order for this to look like Avedon, it needs much more contrast and perhaps a sense of purpose. As it is, it just kind of looks like a guy in a windbreaker. Does that make sense? Avedon's stuff caught people in the act of doing what they do (ie: a singer singing, a chef with a chef hat on, etc.) I think this might have a bit better impact too if it wasn't so centered. |

Nice picture. I note the tonality in Avedon's work is a little richer, with darker tones and more contrast. This one is coming off a little light, perhaps some more PS work. Fits the challenge and style very well though! Nice job. |
