 Thanks for all the nice comments during and after the challenge.

This was taken on the same back-road where I took the horse picture in an other Free Study.

What I really like about this one is that post processing was close to nothing. No cropping was done, levels were adjusted, noise removed and I did clone out a little bit of vignetting in the bottom right corner, that's all.

I had to go back to this image and comment on it. I'm suprrised this didn't finish higher than it did - it's an incredible shot, shouting serenity. I love it, adding it to my faves!

IMHO, this is better than some of the photos ahead of you. =D

Other than that, this is one great capture that makes winter seems so beautiful and worthy to be experienced. :)

Just love this. Winter is my season, and I somehow love the grasses/weeds too. So it's just about perfect for me!

To me, this is perfectly balanced. The light, subtlety, contours and structure merge to make an image very satisfying to the senses.

I love seeing this shot. It makes me want snow to come even sooner so I can attempt something even remotely close to your work here. Only one good snow fall alst year though. Maybe I need to move to Canada. Very nice work and well deserved of your 7+ score.

I do like minimalism. Perhaps more so then the densely subtle. I would hand this on my wall. It is a form that requires patience and sincere introspection to observe the impression made. I hope others appreciate it as much as do I.

I like the overall simplicity of your composition the best. I wish the shadows were a bit stronger (darker), but overall I really like it. 8

I became a little frustrated with all those challenge entries with everyday flowers, family members, pets, cats, backyards and everyday streets. And then you run into something like this.....

Zen, a moment to relax, ahhh. Now I can endure another zillion pet and flower shots.

I can't say enough about this image. Very beautiful and simple. I love the smooth white hill of snow and the crisp slender details of the grass. Well done!!

Your title says "shadows", but I don't really see any shadows. The image is attractive, but its title is misleading.
