This shot did not strike me at first as being a good entry for this challenge, but it did start to grow on me the more I looked at it. I hope that I didn't force this into a challenge just to enter something.
This shot was taken at the Homestead Championship Rodeo. I was impressed earlier when this boy had walked right by me in the crowd. He looked so much like an authentic cowboy without looking dressed up and without over doing it. After the rodeo, I let the crowd file out before I left to avoid the traffic and to see if anymore opportunities presented themselves. I was standing at the end of the bleachers when I looked below and to the side. There, again was this cowboy helping his father seperate their horses from the herd so that they could load them and leave. I'm glad I stuck around a little longer.

Post processing: Opened in Raw without changing exposure, crop/rotate, levels, slight color saturation (a little more on the red), cloned out one stain on the fence and a few spots on the animals, brightness/contrast, slight unsharp, size for web.

I like this shot. I would have liked more of the horses - even at the taken focal length you could have cropped some of the top without losing anything compositionally. As it is, you only got 6 votes out of 191 below 4, so I would think that this was perceived pretty universally as being good, but not spectacular.

A pleasing sense of different intersecting directions in this shot: there are two directions, created by the fence lines, the horse bodies and the direction where the boy is looking. What I don't like is that there are some animals missing parts in this shot: I know it's hard to coordinate things like that, but a shot is a shot, has to be perfect.
