 My kids happily got gussied up and posed for me in true 80\'s fashion. My daughter went for a Cyndi Lauper look and my son is going for a Robert Smith pout. I parked my car behind a strip mall building and shone my high beams which I covered with blue and red cellophane to create some ambience. The post processing consisting of a little dodging and burning and extreme adjustments in selective color mode to create that grainy, desaturated, pastel effect which immediately comes to mind when I think of early 80\'s New Wave. This challenge was right up my alley and I\'m pleased with the results, whatever my score turns out to be.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I loved this image when I saw it but I'll be honest, the coloration bothered me a bit at first. The looks are perfect, your children did a wonderful job of dressing up, especially your daughter.

But as I look at it more now I do see how the coloration and treatment you did aterwards does work very well for this shot. The overall composition is well done though the final cropping seems just a bit off, maybe if you worked it more towards the rule of thirds? Cropping a bit off the left might bring the look in that I have in my mind.

Not much else to add, again, great idea, great shot, great models!

This should have ribboned. this is truly 80s. I'm going to have to remember that ridiculous headlight lighting trick and give it a try! :)

I love the look of the models (their poses, clothing, makeup, expressions). But I hate the processing you did to give it that pink/yellow solarized look. I would have scored this way higher with a more natural look.

I love this image. It portrays the 80's fashion and attitude with the choice of clothing and model expression/pose, but even better (and of course I don't have to tell you this since its your image) it also brings in the hyperness and highkey neon color theme. Layers of 80's all over. Great lighting, wonderful focus, I enjoy everything about this.. I can imagine seeing it on the cover of a record or tape! Very nicely done. I gave a 9

Hard to believe this show was created in 2006... it fits perfectly with the 80's. The hair styles and her clothing are a perfect fit and the processing just goes to enhance the feel for the decade. Well done!
