Greetings from the Critique Club

Welcome to DPC. I see this is your second Challenge, and I hope you are having fun.

You have a good range of tones in your image and it is quite well composed. Unfortunately, it is a little 'soft focus' and that made it difficult for viewers to see the beauty of this pretty azalea. And, yes, the voters told you the image is a little small.

I assume you use Photoshop to process your images. It would be worth checking your instruction book to see how to resize your pictures for competition. We are allowed 640 pixels on the longest side and that would have made your image easy to see and appreciate.

If you continue to have problems resizing your images, please PM me and I'll try to help you through it.

Meanwhile, you have a good camera and a good eye. As soon as you get the basic learning stuff out of the way, I think you are going to score well at DPC. Good luck!

Alice

Kind of small, focused well, and fits the duotones
02/28/2006 02:08:21 PM
why did you make this so small?
02/28/2006 01:29:51 PM
This is just too small to really judge properly.

Bigger!

Too small. I really can't see it well enough to comment on it. I'm sorry.

flowers are are in duotone. too much happening.

This photograph has so much potential but it is just to small for dpc'ers to appreciate. If your software includes resizing, set the longest dimension to 640 pixels. this will help a lot.

Bit small

A really, really small photo and you've put a border on it. The large the photo the more the impact, especially at DPC. Looks like it could be a nice photo the tone appears to be really good and the leaves look like they are framing the flower nicely. Although it is really hard to make much out.

A bit small, could have used more pixels.

This is a nice duotone - it's so small though it is really hard to see. You are allowed to make pictures 640 pixels on the longest side.

Looks like it's a good p icture, but it's too small to be sure.
