| Good choice of subject, but I might have preferred another approach to it, such as showing enough of the lamp to see what it is and capturing the light on the "lava." |

| I think I would have preferred a view that has more of the lamp itself in the view. Not bad though. |

| I first voted this low, but it's starting to grow on me. I think the black spaces didn't do much for me. Nice shot though. |

| Title helped in this case. (started with WHAT IS THIS?) It's cool to make the viewer try to guess what's going on, but it might hurt your overall score. Nicely done, maybe a bit dark. Photo 8 Transparency 7 total 8 swash |

| It looks a bit creepy. The "lava" in the bottom looks very intestinal or something. Yikes! |

| Very cool! I would really like this though if the colours were given some help by boosting them in post processing. It seems a bit like pondwater with that colouring. |

I like it - nicely done. I'm wondering, what's in there?
Only one thing I can't help but noticing - the white mark in the middle.

| was there a way of achieving greater depth of field or was that impossible because it's a macro shot. it's times like these i'd love to see the specs... anyway, the photo meets the challenge, but doesn't appeal much to me, it looks a little gross (i know, that's what lava lamps are ...). -- gr8photos (3) |
