Greetings from the Critique Club!

Hi, Robin! The first thing that strikes me about this shot is the tight crop...others seemed to have liked it as well. The way the goose fills the whole frame is very effective, especially the way the goose seems to be just staring right at the viewer. However, the small image size definitely hurt you...always try to max out your dimensions if you want the best result.

I love all of the soft details in the feathers on its wing and the sharper focus around its neck; I think they would stand out even more if you adjusted the curves and levels for a slightly higher contrast--make the whites a little whiter and the blacks a little blacker, you know?

Your title is direct and obvious, but even though the goose is about ready to go to sleep, it doesn't exactly seem like the goose is 'sleepy'. It's your call how you title it, really, but in my opinion it doesn't connect as much to the photo as a different title might.

Overall it's a cute picture with great focus, excellent composition, and nice lighting. Just make it a little bigger next time :)

Good luck!

I'm a sucker for photos like this, you really should use the maximum size possible width 640px in this case as it would be so much more forceful.

Would've liked to see it a little larger, but a nice shot overall
