Not much difference between black and white if you use these lenses as examples. Both f2.8, both USM Canon glass, both extraordinary lenses, both excellent investments... But the outsides have some differences. Not unlike people, is it? The inside is what counts: external differences are superfluous.

Interesting photo, as well as thought provoking.
