out of focus

Too bright at the end to be scary or arouse fear. ...Or is this "light at the end of the tunnel" meaning "death"? I guess neither has been depicted strongly enough here for me to fully get the emotional impact.

creative 6 interesting 2 focus 3 framing 6 = 4

sorry, this doesnt do anything for me. Perhaps it's the blur thing, never have been a fan of that - Not sure what it is I'm supposed to be looking at. ~ I do however like the texture, but not for a 'fear' challenge.

Though this picture pulls you to a definite point of focus, it still seems a little flat. Did you play with angle, or having the "light at the end" in a different place in the frame? Also, if possible, taking it with more resolution and cropping out the edges would have helped you get rid of the washed out areas around the edge. karmat

Read sometime about Hezekiah's Tunnel (in Jerusalem)...or don't if this is actually a big phobia of yours...your concept (but not image) reminded me of that.

not terribly fearful... not a high quality image either.

A claustrophobic setting but the well lighted entry gives away the trapped feeling that you were looking for. The focus could stand to be sharper and it may have looked better is it were not so symetrical. A 4 by Autool

cool pic but I don't see fear expressed

I like the repetition that the tunnel walls create, but I'd like it even more if it was centered.

Very blurry and washed out. I also wish it were properly centered.

I can see some interesting elements in this shot, but it lacks the zing to say, this is really scary to me. I do understand this is a valid fear, please don't get me wrong. It just doesn't grab me. I got no suggestions, sorry. (all I can think of requires motion pictures, not still.) 5 Swash

meeting challenge = 3 photo quality = 3 I like the shot but it could use more focus - it seems a bit blured. total = 6
07/09/2002 02:10:00 PM
what's with that blue patch on the right?
07/09/2002 11:04:00 AM
Overexposed, not very frightening.
07/09/2002 01:43:00 AM
i think this shot would have been better if there was something at the end of the tunnel that was either scared - or even a pair of eyes - to make it scray or give you fear as you look into it
07/08/2002 10:59:00 PM
Sorry, I see no fear ... just a blury tunnel :(
07/08/2002 09:11:00 PM
Kind of soft in the focus.
07/08/2002 08:06:00 PM
Your picture is a little sterile. It would have been nice if you were to, for example, have a scary silhouette in the opening at the end of the pipe.
07/08/2002 06:58:00 PM
Interesting! I can see where this would cause fear :) The concentric circles adds a nice element to this photo also. I"m not sure what camera was used to do this, but the expsoure needs a little tweaking possibly. Exposing images that have distinctly dark and light areas (like in the shadows challenge) is not easy to do. If you have spot metering, you need to look for a 'grey' area that is somewhere in the middle of light and dark to set your exposure :) = 5 - jmsetzler
