Very cute. 2 things keeping me from REALLY likeing the shot. :-) First, the child's expression looks like he was told to act surprised. (Maybe he really was -- but I can't help laughing at the expression. *grin*) More than that, however, this is really flat tonally. Apart from the cookie jar, nothing else has any real shadow values -- everything's just kind of middle grey. (The flash highlight off at the edge of the window needs a little work as well.)

I love the setup, and the kid's face is great. I don't like the black & white choice, and the boy's face seems slightly out of focus.

children are natural actors... contrast is not that good.

ha ha. great expression on the kid. I wonder if I would have liked it better in color though.

Good shot. 8

I love this little guys expression. A couple of suggestions -- crop the nose off (the pic not your face *grin*), and I think it needs a little more black or have more contrast to be a really good black adn white. (Just a side note: I have the same canister set, except mine is forest green.) karmat

Your model seems to be enjoying himself, how many cookies did he get for helping. I like this picture, real fear is so hard to catch and you did a good job of making it up. A 7 by Autool

Nice...not too fearful but nice anyway.

Those eyes are priceless. I initially voted it mid range, but I'm bumping it up. This one grows on you :)

good one!

I see supprise, well maybe fear of the impending punnishment, ok it's a strech to fit the challenge but I will accept it. I like the effect of the cookie jar being the only true black in the picture, I just would have liked to see more of it. One of my top picks this week.

Love the expression on his face! Too bad the pic's a little greyed out
07/09/2002 10:34:00 PM
this is really cool

BUSTED! lol.. this is cute and the expression works too :) I wonder why you chose black and white, but it works too :) = 8 - jmsetzler

funny picture. feels a bit staged. but points for effort. : )
07/09/2002 04:39:00 PM
meeting challange = 5, photo quality = 3 - recommend cropping a bit on the left to avoid having the nose hanging in the upper part of the shot. total = 8

Good idea. A little too bright. "8" Dogman ;]

Very funny, that kid is a natural! :) Shame about the focus and exposure, though.
07/09/2002 09:13:00 AM
GREAT expression on his face. You either needed to get more of the parent or remove the nose in the upper left.
07/09/2002 12:34:00 AM
caught ya!..that is so cute
07/08/2002 10:36:00 PM
Funny. I like it. The black and white gives it a period feel, which also helps. Shey.

Good job! I like this one, it has a lot of character. Minor nitpiks are to crop mom's nose out because we don't need it to know who he is looking at and where she is. Also would be better to blur the background if possible by using a small aperture setting. The focus is just a bit soft on the boy.
07/08/2002 09:20:00 PM
nice photo
07/08/2002 07:23:00 PM
A little soft on the focus (on purpose?) Low contrast for B&W in the subject and deep background, but really works for the cookie jar. 7 Swash
07/08/2002 05:53:00 PM
Focus needs to be on the kid, good idea.
07/08/2002 05:27:00 PM
I like the idea, but somehow it looks to 'set-up' to me.
07/08/2002 03:22:00 PM
I love this picture!!! I like that you made it B&W and I love the swingset in the background. Great look on the boy's face, looks like he was really caught! I love it and I give you a 10!!
07/08/2002 02:54:00 PM
Very cute...
