 I have dead pixels!!!! and I'm itching to fix 'em. :(

Set up in my kitchen. Placed orchids in front of a black poster board that I hung from the cabinets. Shot in complete darkness with a 30 second exposure. First I used a regular flashlight to light the flower from below, then above and on each side for just seconds at a time. Then I used a small key chain light with a blue cast to light the background. That's pretty much it. Not completely how I envisioned it and most of the other shots I came out with were overexposed on some spot of the flower or another or the white flashlight spilled onto the background. This was the best of the bunch.

Not much to post processing, pretty much out of the camera. Just rotated, cropped, resized, added a blur layer at a low opacity as well as a USM layer, and bordered.

I like it, but I'm not sure if I love it. A far cry from my entry in the first PWL challenge though. :-)

Quite a nice image. I think I'd like it even better with a bit of cropping off the top (or re-framing downward to show more stem instead).

I like the simplicity of this shot, and the curved line as it arcs to the right. Lighting on stem and flowers is lovely. 10
